Amecet n'ainapakin (Shelter of Peace) is a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM)in Soroti, Uganda. We are reaching out to HIV infected and affected children. We also are caring for new born babies, who lost their mother after the delivery. The third group of children we help, are children who need a safe place, they mostly come via the police. Who can help us????

I have never done this before, but this time I want to ask if you can help us, or maybe know somebody who can help us.
We are in need of small sleeping bags, we can use for our small and pre-mature  baby's. You can see one on this picture below, this is one of our small baby's, Samuel, he is part of twins. Even it is warm in Uganda, we have seen that we really need to keep our small baby's very warm, so they don't use their energy for keeping warm, but they use their energy for growing.
Maybe you have still somewhere a sleeping bag like this, (or similar like this),  and you do not need it anymore, please can you think about sending it to us????

Th other thing we are in need of are small quilts. We use them in the beds of the children, we had several quilts send to us, but that was a long time ago. They are now getting worn out, the holes are coming in all of them. Do you know anybody who likes to make those quilts? The size should be 1mtr. x 1 mtr. It would be so great if we could get some new ones.

    The small sleeping bag on the picture is 60 cm long and 35 cm wide, the very small pre mature ones are around 35 cm long and 25 cm wide. Hope this helps.

    Dear Els, what about local seamstresses? If a local seamstress would be able to make the sleepingbags and or the quilts you would support the local community as well. JBR

    I have a group of friends from church who would love to make these. We are planning a day together in the next few weeks so e can work together on the project
