Margret gets a Papa and a Mama!!!

 On June 17th 2015 a little girl was brought to Amecet by the Police. She was left by her mother in a small local bar./ She was very sick from malaria, by that time.

In the blog of 17th June and 14th July you can read about the tracing we did, trying to get her mother, or anybody who knew her mother. We have put adds in the local newspaper, announcements on the local radio and posters on the trees, but no body knew the child or the mother. We got a family name, Auma, the lady in the bar heard the mother call the child with that name. We gave her the name Margret, everybody should be known by a name, we feel. We think that she is around 3 years old. And it is a cute little girl, she made us laugh and we will miss her. But the best place for a child is within the family and today she was officially given to her new parents!! They have been visiting her, sitting with her, playing with her, so that the "bonding" already started. And it was so good to see Margret running to them, when they entered our compound, calling "papa"!

This is the official handover, left is Amos, the Probation Officer, who officially gives Auma Margret to her new parents, who will foster her for 3 years, after that they will adopt her. We believe that Margret will be loved and cared for. So this story, which started so sad, has a happy ending!!!
