Amecet n'ainapakin (Shelter of Peace) is a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM)in Soroti, Uganda. We are reaching out to HIV infected and affected children. We also are caring for new born babies, who lost their mother after the delivery. The third group of children we help, are children who need a safe place, they mostly come via the police. Another Torroro trip...

Today we left at 7 am for another trip to Torroro. I have been writing about Joshua, he has a very serious eye problem. It started with allergies and it has not been treating right and now he is on one eye blind, the other he can see with, but not very good. We are going very regular to the Eye hospital in Torroro. He has been admitted there in the past, they operated his right eye and now we go for review and today we got again treatment because he has an infection in the eye.
They are working on the road from Soroti to Mbale and also on the road from Mbale to Torroro. Because of the bad road we drove for 4 hours to Torroro, today it was wonderful, we were in 2 hours and 15 minutes in Torroro.
Elias drove and Catherine (my youngest daughter) went with us, just for the company. On this picture we eat our lunch on the way back.
I want to ask your prayers for Joshua, I am so impressed with him, he is so positive and happy. When the doctor asked him how he was doing, he said: not so fine, so the doctor asked some more and he said: I can´t read anymore. I just felt for him. He was not angry or sad, no he just said that he couldn´t read anymore. I asked him before if he was scared about his eyes, he said no, he was not scared. The doctor looked at his eye and he put him on a treatment of different eye drops. So we have now a schedule hanging in the living room, what to give and when to give!!
But I can learn from Joshua, to take things how they come and make the best from it and to keep smiling!!!!
